From 1st June 2022 Brighton Health & Wellbeing Centre will be using Klinik Access as the new practice access and triage service replacing eConsult following feedback from patients and improve internal practice systems which will complement the imminent practice merger.
Klinik offers a unified system for patients and reception to assist patients accessing care including handling other enquiries such as administrative requests. The service helps the practice team assess the urgency of a clinical problem and signposting to the most appropriate team for an individual’s needs. Klinik uses artificial intelligence (AI) to assess clinical issues safely but it will allow patients to submit ‘red flag’ problems without bouncing off the system which was a significant limitation of the previous system causing increased frustration and workload for patients and staff alike. Parents, carers or relatives as well as other healthcare professionals will be able to submit an enquiry on behalf of a patient easily. Additionally there is an option to access NHS self-care information from a link on the access page.
The BHWC Klinik online service will be available Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm (except Bank Holidays). After 5pm, if you have a medically urgent problem that you feel cannot wait until the following working day you may call the practice on 01273 772020 to speak to our reception team. Otherwise, when the practice is closed, please contact NHS 111 for advice or in an emergency call 999 for severe or life-threatening problems.
If you do not have internet access or cannot complete the online form, please call the practice reception team on 01273 772020 who will be able to assist you.
Clinically urgent problems will be reviewed on the same day, otherwise enquiries will be reviewed within 5 days but typically sooner. All enquiries will receive a response outcome, e.g. appointment, when reviewed, which will be sent by text or email or alternatively by phone.
